Dear Friend of JDRF,
Imagine a family birthday dinner. Everyone is laughing, visiting, enjoying each other’s company when your son drinks one drink after another - then asks to go to the bathroom every five minutes. When you get home that evening - he soaks the bed and wakes up not feeling well. You take him to the doctor and hear the dreaded words - "Your child has Type 1 Diabetes." It's incurable. He will depend on insulin for the rest of his life. He will always have to watch what he eats. He will have to be monitored every three months by an Endocrinologist.  
Those are just a few of the things we were told when Grayson was diagnosed at the age of five. Our world changed forever that day - it rocked our world! We have had many highs and many lows, literally, over the last nine years! JDRF Mississippi has been such an important part of our lives since Grayson's diagnosis. We are praying that one day, Grayson and all the other Type 1's like him will have a CURE because of JDRF! We hope you will join us at the Gala for a night of fun and fellowship, but most of all raising funds and awareness for Type 1 Diabetes! 
We believe JDRF is the organization that will change what it means to live with this disease – and eventually deliver a cure.
These are just a few of the outcomes from your generosity over the past several years:
•More varieties in artificial pancreas pumps approved by the FDA
•FDA approval of the first disease-modifying therapy for individuals at-risk for developing T1D, ultimately prolonging the onset of T1D
•Human clinical trials focused on encapsulation devices and cell replacement therapies focused on cures
